Outline
This course especially designed for executives and speakers to incorporate humour to improve performance in management and consequently be more effective. You will develop personal humour in communication, learn when to use humour, how and bring levity to the workplace through story telling and improv. Laughter transcends problems and is a proven communicator. Given the opportunity, everyone prefers to be in the presence of laughter. This is an opportunity to open up and develop more of your own natural humour writing, speaking or in team leadership. You will learn communication tools in a light and jovial way, allowing tension to ease and difficulty to disappear. This course is designed for individuals or a group who want to transform and develop the focus of how they present or communicate and have a great deal of enjoyment at the same time.

Objectives

The focus in this course is on how to create relief from stress by expanding on your own authentic, compelling, unique and articulate humor and life experience.   Whatever the event – meeting, sales pitch, off-site conference, annual general meeting– this will help you in your communication and in humanizing the workplace. You will learn effectively how to transform your audience and business relationships and make a real impact when you interact and when you speak.

In laughter we transcend our predicaments. If you would love to be more spontaneous and comfortable in business, consider how a humorous speaker is an effective speaker. No senior business executive today can afford to be without excellent communication skills. You will:

  • Be able to relax when you speak

  • Use humour to be exceedingly effective as a speaker

  • Learn how to enhance business relationships

  • Connect to your audience much more strongly

  • Feel comfortable with an audience and help them forget the speaker is speaking from a script or has a corporate agenda

  • Use humour to leave your message with an audience after your meeting is over

  • Be able to stay in the moment without losing audience contact.

Skills
Using our own life experiences, improvisation methods with hands on participation and techniques, and exercises successfully employed by leaders speakers, comics, successful speakers and script-writers, we will create and develop situations which can easily be used in the business place, and parlayed into successful situations on a permanent basis. These will help to:

  • Discover how to keep people listening and tuned in

  • Discover how to keep the business atmosphere uplifting and creative

  • Find and maximize your presentation and communication ability

  • Relieve stress

  • Develop many more enjoyable work situations

Please note:
People think of themselves as different in business than they are with friends. Some may anticipate themselves closing down, suffering embarrassment during this course in front of their peers. The course can be one on one or for a small group. Sometimes people can overcompensate in the business environment and perhaps speak inappropriately, in an effort to be funny. This is also dealt with during the course. Whatever the environment, we create a depressurized situation so it is in no way intimidating.

The Trainer
